JOY Classics

 

JOY Classics is a walk down memory lane for JOY 94.9 listeners, and with 41 tracks on two CDs, special artwork and a slipcase, this release is something a little special. There are the gay anthems, ‘G-A-Y’, ‘Gay Boyfriend’, ‘Born This Way’ ‘I’m Coming Out’ and ‘Coffee’. There are former JOY anthems like ‘Everything’, and ‘Joy”. It introduces audiences to the world’s first ‘Bearband’ Bearforce1, brings together divas like Shirley Bassey, Eartha Kitt, Deborah Harry, Kylie, Dannii and Cher and sees Johnna’s anthem ‘Pride’ released on CD in Australia for the first time in more than a decade. There are camp classics, club classics, exclusives and following it’s release on February 16, 2008, JOY Classics became the toast of Oxford Street throughout the 2008 Mardi Gras festival. It also found success on some retailers’ sales charts in the United States!
